About Me

My name is Emily Cannestro, I  graduated from Susquehanna University with a B.A. in Studio Art. It has always been a dream of mine to have my own business that incorporates my two passions, art and animals.

In the Fall of 2013 I traveled to  Cape Town South Africa, stopping in Mtwapa Kenya, Swaziland, and parts of Mozambique.  There I lived for 6 months, studying at the University of Cape Town and experiencing everything from wild safaris, to riding an African Elephant, or meeting extraordinary people in their cultures.

Upon returning to the United States, I was inspired by the culture and the amazing wildlife that I was surrounded by during my stay in Africa. I wanted to incorporate the idea of being free to create and inspire in an open environment. Currently I am located in New Jersey, where I'm an art teacher at The Red Oaks School and I'm lucky enough still do my commissions and art on the side!

Creativity is inventing, experimenting, growing, taking risks, breaking rules, making mistakes, and having fun.
